What a feeling! (pic at 20 weeks)

I am 23 weeks along and just can't say enough about how much I love being pregnant. The little taps, kicks, turns, and pokes of my little guy brings so much joy to my heart. Every feeling is new and exciting. My tummy is definitely growing although I sometimes look in the mirror and think it's shrinking. But my pants are tighter and my maternity shirts are starting to fill out so that must mean it's growing. My runner's tummy has been put on hold but I would trade it any day for a baby in my womb. It's truly a miracle from God above. Thank you Jesus!

Pacific Coast Road Trip

We recently got home from an 8-day, 3,000 mile road trip up the coast of California, Oregon, and Washington with our good friends Josh and Chrissie. We had a wonderful time and were blown away by the beauty of the Pacific Coast. God is one heck of an artist! We stopped at various cities along the coast including: San Luis Obispo, Big Sur, Monterey, San Francisco, Bodega Bay, Eureka, Gold Beach, Florence, Lincoln City, Tillamook (mmm, ice cream), Cannon Beach, and finally Shelton, Wa. We stayed with Alex's grandparents in Shelton for 3 days and enjoyed their lake front home. We visited Seattle for a day and then headed home on the oh-so-boring I-5. We stopped for lunch at Crater Lake and stayed the night in Woodland with our wonderful friends Brian and Erica. It was a LOT of driving but definitely worth it.

Drum Roll Please...

It is so fun to refer to our child as "he" and not "it." It just makes it seem that much more real. Hopefully these 20 weeks fly by so we can finally hold our son and marvel at the beautiful work that God has done.

December Dreams

We have some exciting news to share with you.

1. The Turner family is expanding! Our precious little bundle of JOY is due around December 20th. We praise God for this incredible miracle and are so excited for our Christmas baby.

Here is a picture of our baby at 12 weeks:

2. We purchased our 1st home in beautiful San Marcos, CA! We actually purchased property that looks like this:

At the end of December (if everything stays on schedule!) it will look kind of like this (color is slightly different):

6 months seems like eons away but we are so grateful to our loving Father for this sweet time of growth (including my belly) and preparation for what's to come. The Lord is Faithful!

Grandpa Joe's 70th Birthday

We celebrated Grandpa Joe's 70th Birthday at the Scottish Highland Games in Vista. We experienced many new things such as:
1. Men dressed in kilts hurling logs, throwing hammers, and tossing boulders.
2. Scottish country dancing.
3. Bag Pipping and drumming concerts.

It was a fun experience and something I would definitely attend again.

Mom finally retired!

After almost 30 years of teaching 1st and 2nd grade, my mom decided it was time to call it quits. We had a fun Luau party to celebrate this great milestone in her life. Way to go Mom!

GAG Reunion 2007

I experienced a glimpse of heaven last weekend as I gathered with my incredible sisters for our annual college GAG (Girls Accountability Group) reunion in Cambria, CA. There aren't many things more pleasurable to my soul than hanging out with friends that KNOW you, LOVE you, and CHALLENGE you to draw closer to our Heavenly Father. I love you girls!
